Consortium
A regional platform for evidence-based agricultural policy innovation and transformation in Southeast Asia.
CAPRI is a regional initiative led by the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) to support the sustainable and inclusive transformation of Southeast Asia’s agriculture sector. In light of the region’s rapid urbanization, climate challenges, labor migration, and evolving food security concerns, CAPRI promotes high-impact, evidence-based policy development backed by strategic research, cross-sectoral collaboration, and inclusive engagement.
Built on SEARCA’s Legacy
SEARCA, will strengthen its agricultural policy research initiatives to provide decision makers relevant/sound and timely information in the formulation of strategies and programs that would contribute to the achievement of the outcomes espoused in the 12th FYDP. The extent of work needed to do this will involve cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary approaches that leverage innovation, partnerships, and inclusive engagement.

CAPRI bridges science and policy through three core objectives:
Provide timely, data-driven, and actionable recommendations and solutions to address the region’s agricultural challenges.
Foster strategic partnerships for joint research on critical and emerging agricultural development topics.
Enhance technical capabilities and knowledge sharing among institutions, stakeholders, and policy influencers.
CAPRI focuses on strategic research areas that address the most pressing challenges in Southeast Asia’s agricultural landscape.
We identify pressing issues, emerging challenges, and critical policy gaps through situational analysis, national benchmarking, and stakeholder consultation.
CAPRI will build a Southeast Asian agriculture data system to support research, country-specific analysis, and policy design using cutting-edge models and tools.
We turn research into action through policy advisory services, dialogues and forums, and a regional community of practice with experts and partners like CIRAD.
