Collaborative Research
At SEARCA, we champion collaborative, high-impact research that drives agricultural transformation across the region. Through strategic partnerships, funding opportunities, and knowledge-sharing, we aim to reshape the agricultural food system for a more sustainable future.
Knowledge and technologies captured in different forms (tools, reports, etc.) from the relevant, high-impact research studies SEARCA is actively part of.
Research outputs that lead to the transformation of parts of the agricultural food system or transformation of entire sub-systems in farming.
Strengthened research networks and policies that support sustainable agricultural development at local, regional, and global levels.
Members and partners will co-design and co-implement collaborative research on areas of prioritized common interest and shall provide counterpart funding. They will also be invited to form consortia to develop project proposals to secure external funding.
For its pilot operations, SEARCA will provide counterpart funds through regional- and national-level research programs.
Empowering researchers and institutions with the resources to drive impactful studies on agriculture and sustainability.
Building a network of research consortia to secure external funding and amplify knowledge-sharing.
A regional research initiative will be designed and implemented to address a high-priority area identified through consultation with member states. This will align with SEARCA’s 12th Five-Year Plan (FYP) and receive counterpart funding for the first five years.
To address national-level research priorities, SEARCA will fund one research project per country. Research proposals will be competitively selected, with consortia formation open to non-members and partners, provided that the lead agency is a CADRE member or partner.
